3 Tasty Bedtime Snacks That Are Nutritious and Keep You Asleep All Night Long!

1. Dark Cherry Yogurt Parfait
Dark cherries are a fantastic fruit to have on hand! Not only are they jam-packed with flavor (pun intended) but they also support a healthy night’s rest by boosting your body’s natural melatonin production.
By pairing dark cherries with Greek yogurt, you get a delicious parfait that is full of natural fiber and protein that will keep you satisfied all night long.
You will need:
- ½ cup of diced dark cherries (for extra tastiness, simmer them in a small pot on the stovetop until slightly bubbly and warm)
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt (plain is ideal, but you can use whatever flavor you want – just try to avoid too much sugar so your blood sugar doesn’t spike at night)
Add a small spoonful of Greek yogurt to the bottom of a small bowl or mug. Dollop a spoonful of diced cherries over the yogurt. Repeat this process until you have yummy layers of creamy yogurt and dark cherries. If you are using plain yogurt, you may add honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness and flavor).
This yogurt parfait is easy to make and the fat and protein from the yogurt stabilizes your blood sugar which will keep you from waking up at 3 am every single night! The cherries will help increase your natural melatonin production which is the hormone responsible for your sleep-wake cycles.
Instead of reaching for those sugar-filled melatonin gummies, make this parfait for a better (and more filling) sleep-promoting option!

2. Almond Butter and Banana Toast
The best things in life are so simple, and this bedtime snack hits all the marks!
Healthy fat from the almond butter, potassium from the banana, and fiber from the whole grain bread is sure to Eli you catch some ZZZs each night.
Plus, it’s so easy to make! You will need:
- 1 tbsp of 100% almond butter (or nut butter substitute if you can’t have almonds – just avoid butters that have palm oils as these are inflammatory to your gut and can disrupt sleep)
- ½ banana sliced into circles
- 1 piece of sprouted or whole grain toast (Ezekiel brand bread is a great option!)
Take your slice of bread and lightly toast it in the toaster or under your oven broiler. Once toasted, spread the almond butter over the bread and top with the sliced banana. For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle cinnamon over the bananas and enjoy!
Almond butter is an excellent healthy fat that keep blood sugar stable all night while the toast is full of digestive-friendly fiber that will keep you regular!
(happy bowel movements = happy sleep!)
The potassium in bananas has been found to promote muscle relaxation which helps people stay asleep longer. This bedtime snack is perfect for anyone who needs extra relaxation or may live active an lifestyle where their muscles require a bit more TLC.
